Determination of BoP is very complicated and micromanaged to a fault. They even regulate HP at certain speeds. So they might take away HP up to a certain speed and add HP beyond another speed. It's all convoluted and not understandable by even diehard fans. IMSA is far less volatile with their BoP changes. Both organizations need to come up with a different system soon.

Season finale at Bahrain going on now. 1-1/2 hours in. It's a BoP clusterfk so far. Porsche are running 11, 12, and last. Both BMWs and Cadillacs are at the back. Toyota 1-2, Peugeot 4-5. Every race is a complete shakeup. This would be the equivalent of watching F1 and one race you have McLaren at the top of the running and the very next race you have Haas at the top and McLaren struggling at the back  There's just no continuity at all from one race to another. There's talk of some major change in BoP next year but nothing confirmed. It's ridiculous as is.
That said, there's 6+ hours to go so the above is subject to revision ... :D |
I don’t have WEC TV so I’m watching the 2018 Le Mans 24hr instead.

I sincerely get more fun out of watching spec Miata races on YouTube.

The good news is Porsche-Manthey won the 2025 LMGT3 title! Manthey is going to run 2 911GT3 Rs in IMSA next year.
As far as Hypercar .... how can a team who has a shot at taking the season title suddenly be completely non-competitive? The answer: BoP. Porsche finished 13, 14, and 17 in their final WEC race  Nothing weird happened, they were just slow because they had HP taken away and weight added. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762642305.jpg |
Augusto Farfus vs Corvette, Round 2  Farfus up to his usual blocking moves again (this time against Juncadella, not Tommy Milner ) ....

Some pics I took at testing going on now at Sebring. I think the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 V8TT (Huracan V10 replacement) is testing tomorrow. I'm guessing the sound won't be anywhere close to the V10.

What in the hillbillyhell is going on at Porsche? Looks like Penske is out of a possibility to run Le Mans next year. A manufacturer has to have a 2-car Hypercar team in WEC or no cars of that manufacturer are allowed entry, even though Penske has an automatic invitation due to their IMSA Championship. Penske was willing to work with Proton's single car WEC team to add a car but Porsche sht-canned that idea.
Meanwhile, what does Porsche do after citing the poor financial health of their company as the reason for leaving WEC .... they add a second 2-car Formula E team  An invisible series nobody follows or will ever follow. |
Aside from the financial situation , I really think Porsche was pi$$ed off by the BOP rules in WEC . I have no proof of that other than my gut reaction . Walking away from racing at LeMans is a very big deal . Politics has to be the reason .
