How do you organize and keep your vehicle registration/insurance, etc.

I have registration cards and insurance cards for multiple vehicles, trailers and motorcycles. I hate keeping them all in my wallet because it makes the wallet very fat! Lately I've been putting them in the glove box of the vehicles and in the wallet for my motorcycles. Trailer paperwork in the truck glove box. Have always been told not to do this in case the vehicle is stolen but at this point I've never had a vehicle stolen and am thinking what the heck. What is your system and philosophy? Thanks!

Insurance in my wallet because one half sheet of paper covers any vehicle that I'm insured for. Registration? No registration, besides, they can check everything on their computers these days.

Motorcycles too? I'm being serious. How about under the seat where the tool bag is kept? In a weather proof bag? It would be nice not to have any of this stuff in my wallet. All on the vehicle itself just to keep everything uniform.

I wouldn't keep the title in my glove box, but what can someone do with the registration if they stole it?

At least in Houston, they can pull up the insurance online from their car too.

My wallet (if I even carry it) only has my drivers license, credit card and a few greenbacks for tips.

In the UK the ANPR system means that the police can look up insurance, road tax, and MOT( annual inspection) instantly in the police car. Will impound the car if paperwork not in order.

Even if you are current - you can receive a citation for not having it with you.

That said - I do realize the value of having that to help with glove box organization. Thanks, buddy...

I think Texas was the same when I moved here. I can't remember the last time that I was asked for registration, it's usually just license and insurance. I've told them, "hang on, gotta find the insurance" and the guy said "don't worry about it, I can see it on the computer."

One more for reg and insurance card in glove box. And webb, My wife got pulled over one night on her way home. Cope ticketed her for failure to register the vehicle (plates were expired... yeah she wasn't happy with me). I went to the courthouse and asked someone "Should i contest this in court or do you want to save yourselves the time?". They looked at the ticket and asked why. I told them the cop didn't do their job and check registration or they'd have known she couldn't possibly register the car since it is in my name. They told me to have a nice day and dropped the ticket. Several years later and my wife still hasn't forgiven me for that one.

I was pulled over about 3 months ago, he already knew the vehicle was insured and maybe checked me by ID as well. Travis County, near Austin, Constable. I take a photo of my insurance card, which I need to do since my policy renewed yesterday, but I don't keep them in the car anymore. Used to keep them in the glove box of all the cars. Titles never in the car, registration renewal, not lately, and my license, isn't it on the the bumper man?

Registration in the glove box. Insurance on my Geico app So, my truck maintenance records are in the glovebox. Makes it hard to find the registration. 😂 Where do you keep your records? | ||

Glovebox for everything and insurance cards also in my wallet, but I bet this is what that little sleeve on the driver's sun visor is for.
