Ultrasonic cleaner choice
Ultrasonic cleaner choice-
Does anyone have a recommendation as to what works well and is simple? I would like at least 30 inches in length. This will allow most of my motorcycle, car parts to fit in the broth. Thanx!

30" long is huge, AB!
I bought a Creworks brand 6L (6 liter) size off eBay about a year and a half ago for around $100 that I use for my motorcycle stuff - mostly brake and carb stuff - that does the job for me. It only has a 12" tank length. Even their 30L size only has a 20" tank length. Others here will add input, I'm sure. Good luck!

A 30 inch wide ultrasonic fits into the industrial size category.
Look at what Grainger it's offering. You are going to get a sticker shock You may want to adapt or look at what is used on CL of FB

I bought a DK Sonic off amazon 6 or 7 years ago. I own a powersports repair business, and use it almost daily cleaning carburetors and small parts. Mine holds about 5 gallons. I use a mixture of water, pine sol, and simple green. carburetors come out nice and shiny.

You may want to keep your eyes on gov surplus auction sites for something that big.

Width for me is not too important, Most of my parts are longer and narrow.

I wonder if you could hack the guts out of a cleaner and strap it to a longer stainless tray.

May not be helpful - but on larger items I tend to use a water soluble degreaser soak and then a wire brushing. In some cases where rust is an issue a soak afterwards in Evapo-Rust. I'll also used water blasting from garden hose and/or power washer - and that will help knock a lot of stuff off the part.
Using this method you would simply use a large tote to hold the soaking fluids. Here's a 45 gallon tub I use. In this situation it was for a motorcycle tank. Sucker is 30" long so needed something big! The exterior was fine - it was the interior that needed help. I filled her with Evapo-Rust and let it soak for a few days. The tub was to contain anything that may have leaked out. Hate to lose any Evapo-Rust because it's not cheap!

I also have a hot water heater element wired and sealed on a extension cord that i drop in to heat the water up more quickly... but that could electrocute a guy if you are not careful. ![]()

It does take a while on my small (6L) unit for the temp to get up where I want it....but on your larger unit....I can totally understand your improvised method of getting it up quicker - very nice!

that's a very fair price. I've paid double that for a smaller thermo lab one.

thinking back to my younger days here....could you just put the stuff in a tub then get in and fart in the tub?
you'd have to do a lot of farting to be effective but cost would be minimal.
