Eric, that was sort of a low/slow one over the plate but still funny. I as well as anyone born long ago had the same mental image.

Exactly right: He has all the original engine and other parts, just prefers to drive with some oomph.

Frankly, the owner and the other guy that stayed, a farmer, were both a hoot and it was a 1/2 hour of goodness.

Fuel pump fuse on a newer panel.

When I pulled up, the older truck owner just had that vibe, funny and absolutely happy and content to just be his own-self.

No sales tax on the purchase price when you register and no annual inspections either...

Man, what a cruiser those were with the huge pedals and the overall feeling of comfort and style...they were like a warm blanket.
My Pops had a 49 Olds 88 with shaved heads, hot ignition and cam when he was in his early 20s before he joined the Navy. He’s told me some great street racing stories. Has said that he was never beaten off the line or in the quarter but, the Buicks of the day would eventually overtake him. But by that time he’d just slow down and then let them pass.👍🏻😎. Evidently my grandmother sold the car while he was stationed on Guam. He still to this day complains about it,,

Tried to get him to buy an unmolested original unrestored ‘49 that I located in San Jose. I even inspected and drove the car,,, Couldn’t get him to pull the trigger. A fantasy of mine is to find one, modify it like he did using period parts and techniques so that I can experience the car as he did.

I only wish they were painted in McLaren colors.

Then they'd be "Papaya Pagana Huayras roadsters."

4 words that slip off the tongue like a poem.

So carbon discs and is that a clear cover on the inner radius of the disc? That picture is messing me up.

I didn't take a picture because I was driving and past it before I realized, but today I saw a "Haval GWM"

Quote:
Great Wall Motor (GWM) is a major Chinese automaker. Haval is one of their brands, specializing in SUVs.
Haval's SUV Focus:
Haval is known for its range of SUVs, including the Jolion (a compact SUV), the H6 (a mid-size SUV), and the H6 GT (a coupe-style SUV)
I think it may have been the "H6" I don't think it was the "H6 GT". And I don't think (but not positive) it was the Jolion.
