Buffet's general philosophy is to invest in things that produce. Gold is a store of value but does not produce anything. Buffet does invest in gold mines as they produce gold.

Anyone can go to the right place to buy a few ounces of gold anytime, any day. There are shops in the Jewelry district (upstairs away from the public eyes) we use to buy gold from for my father's business. I am itchy to go there and get some gold because my son is interested in making his mother something for her upcoming birthday so i am overly excited to pass on a little of the knowledge.
