yeah, non seaworthy old yachts are a thing in areas like dc. No property tax, water view etc. Lots of areas cracking down on it. Me, I need closet space.

Yep! Now let's all make our suggestions ... where there is a need ... there is a way

Oddly, I looked at some boats last weekend...just checking prices if I "need" one when we move to South Carolina.

Holy moly...when did they stop giving boats away?

I know a guy at a yacht club. I'll bet he can get you a "deal"

One of my dream projects is to do a sort of restomod to a cool older boat. This sounds like a great retirement project Paul!

Not to pile on but you need a remedial geography lesson of the USA. Where SH lives is almost part of the south. Almost.

Almost is right on the money.

This is a great video, featuring Mark Knopfler: Sailing to Philadelphia.

Do yourself a favor and watch.

Portland, too. Quite a few clapped out 30' sailboats parked (moored?) (scuttled?) on the Willamette river crewed by folks that are 'down on their luck', and 'working hard to become productive members of society again'.

God bless all of us.
