I’m close. Real close!

My doctor is weaning me off my BP meds. Taking them has always been a jagged pill for me. Felt like I failed myself. Dumb illogical thinking I know. But I can’t always control how I feel.

My BP has been kickass lately. Next step is to bag them up (pills) and drop them off at a drug drop box.

This eating correctly and jogging-daily thing is amazing. I did yardwork last weekend and then washed all the cars. Usually I have to lay down on the garage floor. Wheezing. My body is better. Zero signs of pre-diabetes, cholesterol numbers are all in the green.

I can run four miles easy.

There is a mountain I have yet to clear on my mountain bike. My goal is to crest it without having to put a foot on the ground. I’m going to try this Sunday. . My mtn-skilz have atrophied a bit, so I may touch ground because of that. As long as it isn’t because I got dizzy.

Outstanding! Congrats on continuing health gains! Losing weight, eating well, and exercise all seem to be beneficial for some reason.

Good luck on conquering your white whale, er, mountain!

That’s awesome, congrats! It’s too bad more doctors don’t push diet and exercise vs big pharma.

Awesome job! Great that you can get off of the meds. I've been telling a relative that if they'd do a minimal amount of exercise they could get off of the prescription drugs docs have prescribed. You should be extremely proud of yourself for what you've accomplished.

That’s incredible progress, seriously inspiring stuff. It’s totally normal to have complicated feelings about meds, but look at what you’ve done: taking control, making real changes, and feeling stronger for it. Crushing four-mile runs and chasing mountain goals? You’re not just managing, you’re thriving. Congrats.

Isn't it great what we can do when we stop slowly killing ourselves?

Great job Vash!

I’m not so lucky, it doesn’t seem to matter how much exercise or leafy greens I eat, my BP is always high, so I probably will always need the Lisopril(sp?) pill- 10mg dose.

Awesome!!! I am following you a bit. Down to my lowest since 2006 (186) which may have been my lowest since college. I have seen a number of odd improvements - like spine crap. No idea, but I think my wonky back is better due to being less fat.

I lost about 30 lbs in 2018-ish. Back pain gone! Some of that weight has found me, and I’m having the occasional back pain again. It’s definitely related.

That is what did it for my wife. She has not taken BP pills since a few months after she retired. Instead of the stress of work, she when to school and got Master Gardener's degree, and she spends lots of time in the multiple and ever growing flower gardens we now have. Yesterday she came in my office and let me know that "we" needed to go to two different plant nurseries to pick up two different types of mulch in my El Camino.

You have a nice looking place last time you posted a pic. She has done a really good job on the gardens from what little I was probably seeing.

Post retirement my BP dropped significantly. It was scary high for the months before thousands of us got wacked.

Keep it up Cliff. I'm on Lisinopril daily, but the doc says my BP is age related. So the farther ahead you can get on that, the better off you will be later on.

That is great man, I am tied to BP pills for the rest if my life or until I get new kidneys, but probably even after that.

You have worked hard and made a lot of changes that I am not sure I could do.

This is very good news Cliff. I think it's the fishing that's done it. By that I mean the active lifestyle of going out fishing.

No kidding! My wife has always struggled with her weight. Without going into any specifics, she does need to lose a decent amount of weight. She tries. We eat right and she exercises...inconsistent but she DOES exercise. She goes to the doc to get help with losing the weight. He tells her her weight is fine and recommends she see a a counselor about her body image issues. F'ing ridiculous.
