I have a very common name which has presented a few problems.

In high school I shared a name with a bad kid and I'd often get pulled out of class for something he did. Finally I just used it to goof off for a while until I went to the office and told them had the wrong David.

As I lifted my hand from signing my motorcycle license in college, a hand grabbed my arm and arrested me for outstanding tickets. Same name and birthday but no physical description. The state trooper was nice enough to let me go.

After 9-11 I was on the no fly list. I could not get a boarding pass until I got to the airport. Real pain with Southwest Airlines. No one at the airlines could tell me why until a year or so of this hassle a ticket agent told me I was on the list. She said go to the shortest line, as in 1st class to get my boarding pass. Final they started the Redress program, I got a number and no more issues.

And finally, I got killed by a shark in San Diego in 2008.
