They're quiet....but wise.

Today was the first day of seeing all the turtles. Two of them have not come up to sun since last year. I was starting to wonder if they died. Today was 78 and sunny....that prob did it.

A bag of compacted #2 paver base under each to prevent sinking. Should be solid for a long time.

In repairing the old fence falling over (4x4 rot at ground level from ~1990), I propped it up vertical plus a few inches at the top for flex, dug a new holes next to each post and bolted/lagbolt them together above and below. Paver base around that as back fill. Slacker here. Those only lasted 20 years or so before complete failure. Wet clay soil here.

It looks like https://coppercoat.com/coppercoat-leisure-antifoul-applications/ is also used in marine paint to prevent algae buildup.
they'll probably do just fine. There are a lot of variables concerning how fast wood rots. The climate, termites, micro organisms, soil and drainage capabilities for sure but the wood species and quality are foremost. If the conditions are not good for your posts longevity then a 6x6 will rot out at the base as fast as a 4x4.
I wish i could get real deal copper green still but i live in CA. Gotta protect those salamanders ya know

Garage
I may or may not know someone who may or may not drive to Nevada to buy things California won't let them buy.
