Extremely Large Hooters!

Now that I have your attention, will a 1974 ssi rs style exhaust and retrofit 'early style' retrofit oil lines removed from a 1989 cabriolet fit on a 1978 911 sc?

Kemo 07-06-2003 02:28 PM

I have heat exchangers from a 74' on my SC, and early oil lines, they fit fine. you will notice a nice increase in performance. :)

johnnytarga 07-06-2003 02:35 PM

Thank you for the response. This particular exhaust however is off of an '89 that is a '74 "style". If you know if it would fit PLEASE let me know.

Chuck Moreland 07-06-2003 03:12 PM

Yes it fits.

Now, can we get back to those hooters?

Kemo 07-06-2003 03:30 PM

I believe the "EARLY STYLE" heat exchangers or "SSI" or "SSI STYLE" heat exchangers will fit on the 2.4, 2.7, 3.0 and 3.2. That covers 1972 thru 1989 (I think :)) Bruce Anderson recommends them and this mod seems to be REAL popular. Unless you have MFI (and you probably dont) you should be ok. I have read that they are too restrictive for a 3.6, some would argue the same for a 3.2. The oil lines should fit just fine.

bite me Johnny

marcesq 07-06-2003 06:14 PM

What exactly are you installing ??? There might be an issue with the flange thickness if the units coming off of the 3.2 were thin flanged (owner of the 3.2 would have had to change out exhaust studs, but you never know).

ckelly 07-06-2003 07:34 PM

Wow, what a tease.........

johnnytarga 07-06-2003 10:32 PM

O.k. guys, thanks for the info. It is much appreciated. As for the hooters, I asked this same question (78 exhaust compatibility) two pages ago and got 39 views and 0 replies. So sex does sell! 408 views and 6 replies. Sorry, I was desperate. I promise in the future to only use hooters for good and not for evil.
And to BLOWN: I'm not biting anything you got, buddy.
