How was the whole BAT listing process? How long did it take to list?

gregpark 05-19-2025 01:50 PM

Gotta admit, pretty snazzy Baz!
I've sold several cars through BAT and it's pretty simple. Get the car accepted, pay your 99 bucks and it only took a day to list the car this time. It takes more time to get the car ready for sale and take lots of pictures. They'll walk you through the process. Great place to sell, national exposure even international car went on line late Saturday and it has 3900 views and a almost a thousand watchers. It'll be a watcher who wins the auction. I never release the car or title until the money has been transferred to my bank. BAT does offer an escrow paypal sort of thing i haven't experiencd yet. It's up to the buyer.

I’ll second that, I’ve sold a few cars on BaT and it was a smooth process as long as you use some common sense. Once the auction ends, it’s pretty much a standard private party sale, ie. neither the car or the title leaves my property until it’s paid for and the funds have cleared.

I never wanted a red car, and then years ago, I bought a bright red mazdaspeed miata.

Once a deal has been reached BAT washes it's hands of the both of you. And reserves don't mean diddly. BAT wants you to set a low reserve so a sale takes place and they get their 5% from the buyer but you're not legally bound to sell (I've always sold). So you could go ahead and agree to the low reserve they insist upon. If Reserve is not met they share contact info of highest bidder with the seller anyway. The worst they could do is ban you from selling again on BAT I guess. Some sellers list at no reserve thinking it will attract more bids. Could be true? dunno. I put one car on without a reserve and didn't notice any difference.

yeah there is zero after care with BaT... Standard caution applies.

The listing says a Golde sunroof? Is that aftermarket or a standard option?

gregpark 05-19-2025 03:32 PM

Standard. It's the only electric gizmo in the cab (and works just fine). No radio even. Haggerty adds 10% to the value of a '67 with a factory sunroof

Yikes! Going into the cabinet business! I love when those things start up. Like something that's hooked up to a dam.

Powermatic is the perfect brand name.

Was going to bid until I saw the steering wheel at the 12/6 position instead of 9/3.

I predict that it will go for at least 5x what it's worth in any sane universe. That's the 911 world these days. Completely taken over by effeminate tech bros in skinny jeans. Lucky you as a seller, though. :)

gregpark 05-20-2025 03:01 PM

They've been going for 5x the worth in a sane universe for about 10 years now. Which is one reason I'm selling: I'm hesitant to drive it as hard as it's meant to be driven

stealthn 05-20-2025 09:27 PM

So it was bid to $69500 two years ago, do you think it will do better now?

gregpark 05-21-2025 06:28 AM

I'm hoping so, it should. The timing was wrong for some reason a couple years ago. It's a really solid car all the way around including fresh running gear and someone will be happy for a long time. I owned it for 10 years, much longer than most cars in my life, it's just time to let it go

Baz 05-22-2025 03:36 PM

2 days left and sitting at $38K.........
