Since we're recommending recent Westerns, here's one I liked, The English, on Prime. Y'all will enjoy all the action and suspense, and your wives will like that the protagonist is a woman. The story has quite a twist.

I mentioned it earlier. I thought it was a brilliant western with new themes and characters.

Wild Wild West was more like a scifi set in the west. The steampunk stuff was cool.

i know media literacy isnt the strongest here, but this is like high school level media analysis. as i said, if you dont think blazing saddles could be made today, you are probably part of the punchline of the movie.
I love how your first response is usually (in not so many words), "I'm so smart, you're so dumb."

And you're often not addressing the primary content or are talking about something tangential.

Great villians, beautiful women and cool gadgets.

That must've been a really expensive show to create.

You've got me curious. I'm not a big "western's" guy and my wife doesn't like them either. But it's hard to go wrong with Emily Blunt. I may watch a couple of episodes, but it'll take forever to get through much since the missus isn't going to be interested.

Dood. Watch one episode. It’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in recent years. The themes transcend the western genre.

She actively dislikes westerns. She's not likely to even give it a glance

And so it begins...

I just always thought Blazing Saddles was a hilarious movie that poked fun at certain social situations and offended those who probably needed to be offended. Kind of the same thing when Dave Chappelle had the skit where he was a member of the kkk but was blind so, he didn't know he was black. It's all good, but what do I know?

THANK YOU!

I really enjoyed "Appaloosa" - more than many others in the same genre......

Loved "The War Wagon" --- along with every Duke western ever made!

Love this scene from "Big Jake"!

Both versions of "True Grit" were great, can't say the same about "The Magnificent 7" remake.
"Pale Rider" doesn't get a lot of love in the Eastwood universe, but I like the "Shane" and High Palins Drifter" combination

Does "Bronco Billy" count as a Western? Or "The Honkers" with James Coburn? I enjoy both.
