Unclebilly, if this bike is for a 50 mile commute, I would think you are going to be in the saddle roughly 2 hours each day. Your body, not mine, but I would be looking at something that looked after me in the seating position probably a sport tourer.
Have fun in your search. Hopefully more fun in your commute.
