Other said there is only one women in the movie and guess what, she hooks up with Pitt. Shocker.

Other said there was no villain in the plot. They didn't make one of the other drivers a villain because they used actual F1 drivers and couldn't make a real driver the bad guy. I would have suggested Max and he'd fit the role perfectly.

Why would you post something like this on a thread about a film that just came out in the theater, that people are discussing whether to see? Were you dropped on your head, repeatedly, as a child?

URY likes to fart in elevators.

What guys? Anyone who clicks on this thread interested in what people thought of the film before spending their money and time on it? This forum has an audience of hundreds, (at least), of car enthusiasts. You thought it would be funny to give away the ending and piss people off?

Ok, midget.

sc_rufctr 07-05-2025 12:00 AM

Mark likes it. (Spoiler free)

This is a thread about a fictional movie. Is anyone really going to not go to the movie after reading what I posted? In every movie about racing the star wins the race and gets the girl and this one is no different.

Going to see it today in IMAX. Even the wife wants to see it.

URY posted about a 3r party review. Maybe take the 3rd party to task. Anyone can find it. That was no spoiler. And left out 99% of the details AFAIC see.

I thought I had a tight cork.

3rd party reviews often give away spoilers and usually say so before they do, as we sometimes do here. Most people don’t want to know how a movie ends before they see it. The etiquette here and elsewhere is to not spoil a movie. One usually trusts in that to see more general discussion and should know that someone like URY doesn’t care and stay clear to avoid risking knowing plot twists or the ending.

^^^thanks for posting that Steve so I didn't have to. I've never seen a review that didn't have SPOILERS in the title and a few more times

The standard has always been:

**************SPOILERS*****************

half a page of returns or so, then actual spoilers labeled SPOILERS

Steve Carlton 07-05-2025 07:49 AM

It’s a crummy thing to do and never appreciated. It’s sociopath lite.

astrochex 07-05-2025 03:26 PM

So even if you have stumbled on spoilers, go see the movie. The racing sequences are generally well done. If you’re a racing purist you might have some angst. The story works too. My wife, not a racing fan, enjoyed the movie.

Imax on Monday. Assume it'll be LeMans lite-great racing sequences, zero plot...

As someone who likes Le Mans, this has 1000x more plot and character development. Which is not hard to do, LM had zero of both. The photography and depiction of actual F1 races is absolutely amazing.

(That is how you review a film and voice opinions without ruining it for people who haven’t seen it).

You do. But what he did was a dickless move, regardless of whether he was quoting some podcast. He chose to spoil the story, in as much as it has one, just to “piss (people) off.”

What a ****ing loser.

Vintage Racer 07-05-2025 09:00 PM

I agree.

I am not a guy that likes fake Hollywood movies.

David 07-06-2025 05:04 PM

Loved it. Really glad we saw it in the theater. Hard to beat the big screen and deep bass in the car scenes.

Geneman 07-06-2025 06:43 PM

AS A racer and a > 50 year F1 fan, I will be interested to know how likewise people consider the staging of the yellow car " flight" . of course its hollywoddified but... C'mon.....

I'm a 50 year F1 fan (since I was a kid) and I thought it was done well. There are many things that a fan would find wrong but there are many more that a real fan would be impressed that they got right. Sure there are some things that just wouldn't happen but it's a movie, not a documentary.

The average person learned a lot about F1 that they would never know if it had not been presented in this entertaining film. :)
