I learned a while back to never drink beer out of an open mug outdoors without looking first.

That's what happens when you try to kiss a wasp without getting consent first, ya perv!

Prednisone did the trick. One pill about 4:30 yesterday and all cleared up this morning. He said no Epi-pen because of anther drug I take for stents. That was a weird deal!

It'd not always an allergic reaction
Last year i was stung by a ground wasp, my calf was swollen to bigger than a softball, dizzy, kidneys shut down etc. Doc tested for everything, says it was a blood infection.

Wow, how quickly did that pop up? I would assume that sepsis takes a bit to develop, a couple/few hours.

Big and black? Might have been a hornet. I've heard their stings are nasty, and apparently so.

I have two of these. I keep one on the kitchen shelf and one in the glove box of my work truck.

Can't tell you have many times I've whipped it out when stung by something.

May not help in all situations so if need be do consult your health professional - but in my case it's really helped keep stings from escalating.

Benadryl Extra Strength Anti-Itch Cooling Spray, Diphenhydramine HCI Topical Analgesic and Zinc Acetate Skin Protectant for Fast Relief from Most Outdoor Itches, Travel Size, 2 fl. oz

Only $6.27 from AZon

I was using that. Decreased the itching tremendously. To follow up: after taking the prednisone pill the ENT guy prescribed everything seemed to clear up and I played golf yesterday (86 for Greg’s info, won big bucks $8) and rash came back, upper lip swollen for some reason. Called ENT office and they said go to ER. Did that and they gave me a heavy duty prednisone shot and a prescription for prednisone that starts big and tapers off which I’ll start today. All back to normal again today and hoping for no more recurrence! Totally weird experience.

Very weird! But glad that the prednisone seems to do the trick for you.

Predisone is a powerful med as well. At the risk of sounding preachy please familiarize yourself with the common side effects.

Been reading about it. So far nothing problematic…looked like some of the weird stuff might result after long term use…hoping to be done with it after a week. Thanks for the input.
