Join me on the Safari Party: Desert Descent Rally
Last week I headed to Utah in preparation for Safari Party: Desert Descent, a 4-day rally in Utah which Pelican Parts is proud to be a sponsor of. I've been looking forward to this event since last year and reuniting with fellow alumni members. A kickoff party started Thursday night at Kuhl in Park City, where we were able to meet some familiar faces and many new ones.
Safari Party officially kicked off Friday morning at Warehouse Motor Club, where we met all 40+ drivers and were able to see some amazing cars in the facility. ![]() We then headed on our drive towards Torrey and Swingarm City which was perfect with the fall colors coming in. ![]() A day was playing around at Swingarm City, where people could push the limits of what their cars could do on the dirt. It looked like we were transported to another planet! ![]() "The Castle" in Swing Arm City, one of Ken Block's favorite places to drive. Many conquered it multiple times during our trip! ![]() Swingarm is a huge playground with lots of fun places to explore. We even found a nice spot in front of our campground! We had the option to stay at nearby hotels or camp, but I chose to camp along with many others. It's definitely the way to go for the full experience! ![]() We then met up for lunch to fill our bellies, taking over an entire restaurant (they were expecting us). ![]() It was then time to make our way towards Moab. We had a trail run planned, but due to flash flood warnings, we changed our route and went with an alternative out of precaution. ![]() Many of us wanted to push further ahead, so we made our way to Chicken Corners, a more technical route, which had some amazing views to offer. ![]() The event then officially concluded with a dinner and awards ceremony. Monday was an added bonus, giving attendees the option to head on another amazing drive, before everything concluded at noon. I couldn't have asked for a better 4 days, meeting some awesome people from the US and abroad. We all bonded over our passion for driving like they were meant to be driven. The shared experiences with a great group of people make all the difference. I'm glad to have made many new friends through Safari Party, and can't want for next year. Who knows, maybe I'll see you out there next year too! Take a look at our photo gallery here: Safari Party 2025 Photo Gallery

Steve owns the 928 and I’m glad to have become friends with him. You can find him on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dreamweavergarage
Here’s a few from last year. I was so excited when I saw it for the first time. He was basically fixing the car as he drove it too. Completed the rally both times! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
