An all-electric motorcycle from Honda might be on the horizon!

Probably won't be called "The EV Fun Concept". But maybe!!

I want an EV motorcycle. The current ones don’t do it for me.

Just no room for enough battery, nor is anyone willing to pay the weight penalty. Might be o.k. as an extremely short range city bike, but even a relatively short jaunt in the countryside with some sport bike mounted buddies is going to drain the battery long before they are done riding their bikes.

Starting to see electric dirt bikes at the local off-road parks. They do o.k. if ridden on the lower trails, pretty much in sight of the truck and trailer, like on a motocross track. I've seen way too many of them on the top of the mountain with dead and dying batteries, though. Retrieval gets to be a real problem, since they can't always coast all the way back down.

I’m all for alternating concepts, but it’ll have to be on a direct current path for me to take it.

I think far more so than the electric car industry, the electric bike industry has garnered a terrible reputation for vastly over optimistic range estimates. I bet some of the guys I ride with would have that thing drained dead flat in 50 miles or less. That has been the problem across the board, and why pretty much every one of them has failed in the market.

Did not know that.

Still. I expect my next work location (last move before retirement) to be 7 miles away.
