I mean.....are there really people who just hit the "BUY" button without checking against local prices?
Who are these people? ![]()

Just bought these and thought they were a very good value. Not available locally that I know of. Better than a grill lighter!

Absolutely, I have no doubt that they make a lot of money that way. I almost always look at the "sold by". The small businesses that sell through A may be WAY of in price. Sold by Amazon is USUALLY close to our less than the local price, but not airways.

Definitely have to shop, especially on more expensive items. I usually google it to see pricing, then decide if I want to buy local, someone else or A for convenience.

I generally do a search for what I want to buy and see if Amazon pops up or I find the lowest price then check Amazon. I've seen a few things where Amazon was just way off base.

I pay more to buy from Amazon because they deliver and I don’t have to waste time dealing with idiots and hunting for stuff at multiple stores.
My time is not free and spare time is not readily available.

The biggest thing with Amazon buying is the old bait and switch. Search for a certain product, and look at a few options, and all of a sudden, a different product that is similar pops up.
And I always just search for a product and fined the competitors prices. If is the close, but even little more on Amazon,.I will buy from Amazon. They deliver, and the return policy is great if there is an issue.

I often buy something from Amazon because it is by a large margin the easiest way to find what I need and get it to me. This week I needed an M7 x 1.0 Helicoil kit to fix a stripped bleeder on my E12's brake caliper. Tried a hardware store (an old-school one) on the phone, they didn't know what I was talking about, when I explained it said better to try an auto parts store. Perfectly reasonably, I just wanted to try a hardware store too. I call three FLAPS near me. At two of them, the person I was speaking to has absolutely no idea what I'm talking about and I have to explain everything to them. Third one, they did know what a Helicoil and he looked but they didn't have the size I needed. I went to Amazon, picked what I needed and it was at my door in a day and a half, and cost $17.
