WOW. Super cool. I don't even have a race car!!!
What year Cascadia? I made / sold lots and lots of parts to Freightliner in a prior career. |
Amazing!
|
That’s awesome!!!!
Reminds me of a Renegade, very cool!! |
A truly great thread! :)

Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor.
That is masterful in every step, concept, design, fabrication and finishing. Well done, Sir.SmileWavy |

...now you know how the rest of us feel ;) Awesome thread and pics ... thanks for sharing... just wow :)! |
To the OP , are the exterior walls fiberglass/fiberon/other ? Purchased in precut sheets ? How are they installed ? How did you waterproof ? The more I look the more I am in awe .

Sure beats replacing a couple of clutch plates in a boat transmission.

The inside is insulated with spray foam on OBS panels and finished with what they call soft touch walls in the living area and alu panels in the garage. Here are some pictures further in the build. I included some pictures of how I build the bay doors. It gives a good view of the principles behind it. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756048486.jpg |

I visited the Renegade and Showhauler (another mfg who builds on a truck chassis) factories before I started to see how they build them. |
This may be the most impressive project I’ve seen on Pelican. Well done!
|
I agree, nice work.
Takes the crappy build quality from most manufacturers out of the equation. |
Awesome build!

Aluminum exterior skins very nice , durable and somewhat lightweight . I never would have guessed industrial tape as the install method . How many gallons are the fresh/grey/black tanks ? I assume you have/need a CDL license to be able to drive this rig ? Just a phenomenal build !

As someone who has been on Pelican for the last 25 ish years I must say this has to be one of the most impressive projects I have seen. Thank you for showing/sharing with us. I am always impressed with the amount of talent this board has on it. I only wish I had some local friends with the skills that are showcased on here.

Holy scheise
I just clicked on this thread today for the first time. I'll have to admit that when I saw the title, I wrongly assumed that someone had built some janky RV on a van chassis or something. Holy balls...this is impressive.
It begs the question, at least to me; what did you do in life, (or still do), that would equip you with the skills for this type of endeavor? Are you a builder or(?) As amazing as this truck/RV/hauler is, I'm more interested in the builder. Ignore my inquiry if you'd rather not answer on a public forum but damn...what a project. |
