Mark Sanchez arrested after being stabbed
 

This is a strange story , Sanchez gets into an argument with a guy parking in a alley delivering food . Apparently Sanchez was the aggressor and pepper sprayed the guy . Guy fears for his life so pulls out a knife and stabs him . Lots of questions on this one .

So, former QB, so not one of the giant guys, but it's not like any of them are tiny weaklings. Who was the guy, ex-linebacker? Must have been huge.

I just don't understand getting in verbal arguments with random nutters.

"OK, yeah, you're right" and walk away. I guess maybe the testosterone charged competitive types can't do that.

And getting sprayed with pepper spray usually doesn't give you a "I was afraid for my life" jitters unless you were sprayed and then the sprayer knocked you down and started kicking you or something. If I spray someone with pepper spray, it's to give me a chance to leave without worrying about getting stabbed in the back while I leave.

Vaguely Related Note: I have seen a couple/few road rage videos where someone stopped in front of someone else and then approached the car that they had blocked in only to get a face full of pepper spray. That usually does a pretty thorough job of taking the piß out of them. I don't carry pepper spray, and I think I've been in that situation twice in my life, once over 25 years ago, the guy was a little drunk guy, and the first time probably 1990, and the dude seemed like a tweaker. Both times it was a surprise. And both times it ended as quickly as it started with the guy wandering off back to his car and me wondering WTF just happened.

If the story is as stated in the press article why would Sanchez care if a delivery guy is parked in the alley ? Makes no sense . Was his car blocked in ? If so why was he parked in the alley ? Sanchez was in Indianapolis to be a commentator for today's Colts game so he probably didn't even know the guy he confronted . Will be interesting to see if there is more to this story . I am glad he is ok .

Guy was near deaf and near 70.
And now looks like this.

Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury

Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle

Public Intoxication -- Endangers Life of Another

Guess we'll have to wait for the video - but if the truck driver is the one with the knife....Sanchez had to take it away from him to cut the driver?

Weird situation all around. Evidently, they both filmed each other getting stabbed by the one knife.

Assuming the story is remotely accurate, 70 yo deaf guy going about his business and screwed with by a drunk jock, yeah the FB player needs to have the book thrown at him.

I just read the charges against Mr Sanchez have been upgrade to felony. I also very briefly caught images of the other person, hospitalized, on TV. Boy, that guy looks like he tangled with a grizzly bear!

Sanchez never came across as a logical thinker.. or decision maker....

And now security footage backs up witness statements and the truck drivers statement . Mr Sanchez in deep poop now . First Fox will probably fire him . Then misdemeanor and felony charges to contend with . Plus knife wounds that need to heal . Dumb ass 😒

What a strange story. Even when hammered drunk, why pick on some old truck driver?

The civil suit is what is going to be interesting...

I listen to a few sports talk shows he contributes to and he is excellent, very self effacing and exhibits a real understanding of his former position.

Again, what a strange confluence.

Maybe he's just naturally an overly macho wanker. Maybe he was "disrespected". Maybe he's trying to retain the level that he was at when he was young and is on boat loads of testosterone or doing 'roids or something.

Or maybe he's just a grade A wanker.

I know if someone was spraying me with mace and trying to stab me - no way would I try to defend myself!
