I don't want to mislead anyone on the warranty . The warranty I am getting is 4 years 48k miles bumper to bumper . And 7 year 100k miles drive train . But that clock started when the car was originally sold in October of 2023 .

So 2 years of each warranty have been used up . So really we have 2 years/48k bumper to bumper and 5 year/100k drive train . Car has 18,955 miles . I am comfortable with both warranties .

I think Mazda offers a “wrap” that takes everything to 7/100 to 10/125 from the in-service date. Did your dealer offer it?

The dealer briefly started talking about additional warranty but I said no thanks . I may dig deeper when we go to pick up the car .

Looks like you can only purchase a Mazda service agreement (extended warranty) at the time of purchase. Not sure what terms and coverages are available. I look at stuff like this as how many hours of work is the warranty equivalent to? If it was $2,000 and labor rates are $200, then you've only paid for 10 hours of labor for x years, not including parts. It's like buying insurance.

^^^ Technically I purchase the vehicle when I pay for it . I am paying for it when I pick it up . I will talk to the salesman before I cut the check to see what is available and how much $ is it . I will then make a decision.

Yeah, the selling dealer can always re-contract you if needed (happily). I'd be curious what's available. Hard to find much online.

I wouldn’t pay an extra dollar for an extended warranty on a Mazda, they are typically very reliable cars.

No it is not red . Curious why do you ask ?

Scott Douglas 10-21-2025 04:49 PM

'Cause most I see around this neck of the woods and on TV commercials are red or some shade thereof.

My wife gave me a list of colors she did not want . Red/burgundy was at the top of the list . This one is rhodium white which is a special order color . Black interior it's a sharp looking SUV . I would say almost Macan looking .

If you think a -5 looks like a Macan, don’t look at the -50.
I prefer the lower wider look myself…

I think Soul Red is one of the better modern car colors. Especially on the ND Miata.

Arizona_928 10-21-2025 06:09 PM

The -5 is a 924. -50 is the 944.

My wife’s CX5 has that colour. It was a $500 option.
A friend of mine that owns a body shop told me it’s difficult to match.

A friend of mine has a 10 year old one with 350K miles. No real problems.

rfuerst911sc 10-23-2025 01:57 PM

Picked it up today . Here's the " Pic or it didn't happen " mug shot .
