Just beginning the 2nd round, two different types of C. Both considered manageable.

Going in for biopsy next week for the prostate.
Doc described it as getting a knitting needle shoved up and through the wall of the hiney with no anesthetic.
That doesn't sound fun.

I might have put my cancer adventure on here, don't remember to tell the truth. Here goes all THREE cases I have been through.
1. October 2009 my thyroid on my left side swelled and my neck was hurting so the specialist said best to remove both sides as best to do. Both sides removed and been taking meds for the missing body parts.

2. August 2018 got a cut on my forehead that would not heal and tests showed skin cancer so the bad parts removed, but........

3. October 2018 the right side of my face was starting to swell and be tender, testing showed skin cancer under my skin and in my neck so all those pieces were removed and then "pin point" radiation for December 2018 and January 2019. I went from 220# down to 170# and lost the hair on the right side of my head and what was left turned white but.......

4. PET scan June 2020 showed cancer at the top of my left side lung. I was not going to get radiation again so I figured this is the end! But fortunately for me Sharp Cancer Center had just got a new immunotherapy from the Danny Thomas Children's Hospital and did I want to be the tester? Well yes and Medicare said they'll cover the $6,000 cost for each dose (every 3 weeks). Sooooo after 2 months of doses a new PET scan showed a scar and that was why I was coughing up some weird looking stuff. Only side effect was daytime tiredness and some red bumps that bled easily but after a year no more scar AND MY HAIR AND BEARD TURNED RED ONCE AGAIN! The makers of the meds were surprised at that change but said that had happened to several children too.

Finally, my Oncologist said she wants me to take the meds for the rest of my life so that is fine with me as long as Medicare pays! I think the cancer came from either radiation I got as a nuc machinist in the Navy for 20+ years but the VA does not really know what the various types of radiation does to the cells in the body.

Man you got that right . The medical bills are just stupid expensive . The one drug I am on is over $1700.00 a month !!!! That is insane for 2 pills a day . Insurance wouldn't cover it at all so doctors team found a medical grant to cover it . Will have to do the same for 2026 .

Big C

Wishing you well, and complete recovery Red. My wife passed away in 2024 from colon, liver cancer. Brutal chemo and expensive. Doc prescribed pills that cost $20K for 50 pills the size of aspirin. We got a grant to pay for them, to no avail. Cancer is a huge money scam, her bills over two years were over $250K. Again, best wishes for full recovery.

Ultrasound is rumored to have benefits.

Same with reduced calories which weaker fast-growing cells require.

Same with low doses of arsenic from peach pits or crushed apple seeds.

Quackery. What else is there to lose?
------

The most "common cures" have been proven to be 95% ineffective. Except for the extracting money part.
The Medical Industry has failed most patient customers.

-----
Cancers are generally out-of control cellular growth from what I understand:
-They require a higher amount of blood flow. (->Angiogenesis inhibitor drugs)
-They are generally weaker (->Chemo and Localized Radiation)
The disease is not the same in every instance.

Metastasizing throughout the body makes it exponentially more difficult.
Get 'er done locally at the best resource, now.
With targeted radiation and diet modification would be my best guess.
Stop eating all HFCS sugars and GMO crops. Strawberrys are supposedly the worst.

Your doctor might be nice...but your kids will still be responsible for the bill after your death.
Get a revoke-able family trust set up now. Lawyers and banks can do it. Provide witnesses with paperwork.
Else the vultures will pick it clean.

Tuberculosis used to be a major killer of humans...until group immunity took effect. Same with most major diseases.
The lungs can wrap them up in a tight ball cluster forever. (I was once diagnosed as a youth.)
Many people have survived it.
Stay on the positive side and listen to the body.

How does a nation that spends the most per capita on healthcare have a less than mid pack rating amongst industrialized nations? Follow the money.

BTW I have had colon cancer and a pre-cancerous tumor in my neck. Thankfully the colon cancer was caught early and did not need chemo or radiation. The neck tumor was caught by a sharp eyed spine doctor who saw it on my cervical MRI. If he had not picked it up, this could well have evolved into a very virulent aggressive cancer.
