That is too funny. Dogs really do shave years off of your life with moments like that. Great shot!

Here is our beloved Shelby. She is our 10 year old GSD that we adopted at 1-1/2 years old.

Oh my gosh you guys...these are all great pictures. The day Bailey had to be put to sleep we took the other two dogs for a memorial walk for Bailey at the rose gardens by Lake Harriet. When I get a chance I'll post some of them on here.

ENGLISH BULLDOGS

I got these two but it looks like I'm only able to handle one as of right now so I must part with one. I'm looking for a good home and just enough to cover what I paid....BTW the one that is in need of a new home is on the left.

She was imported from Columbia and is now 3 months old.

Sarah, we are very sorry for your loss of Bailey. Have you ever seen the poem called the Rainbow Bridge? If not here is a copy.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sadly our 16-1/2 year old Tabby "Keela" went to the Rainbow Bridge this March. I pray one day he and I will be united.

Mary....so sorry to hear about your Keela. What a wonderful long life she was able to life. Yes...I have heard/read the rainbow bridge and I love that poem. I saved it at work and have also sent it to some friends when their pet has passed away. Thank you so much for posting it here too. I think one of the hardest things when a pet passes away is the immediate void of the daily activities they took part in that don't happen anymore. :(

As long as you pass me 1600-2000 "this way"..... They are not mine, they belong to my breeder. The only one that is mine is listed at the top of the page.

English bulldog owners--my vet tried to steer me away from one of these due to health problems. Is it as bad as she says? What are the special things to watch for in owning this breed? I currently own a Boxer and am considering a playmate for her.

Your vet is correct; these dogs are prone to problems down the line and therefore need special attention. The main problem these dogs have is their throat is designed in a non-traditional curvature patter that will cause them to choke on small items. You should not give them small “chicken” bones as many owners soon find out after it’s too late. They also need special attention to their eyes…. There are a few others problems but you’d probably be better off doing some research…..

Oh yah: they are stubborn so if you don’t have the time to really work with them I suggest a different breed.
