Yellow...I wanna be like you!!! What's Harry? Goshawk?

Do Ana and Athina point or flush for Harry?

The hawk is the ONLY thing she has ever said I couldn't get

DonDavis 02-03-2005 12:12 AM

Hey Jim,
Good lookin' dogs there! Our Ginger is about 4 months. There's an ealier pic of her in this thread a few pages back.

lowyder993s 02-03-2005 06:47 AM

Don:

That's a good lookin' hound...all paws and ears, you gotta love 'em at this stage! I'll be your neck of the woods next month w/ my 2 at a field trial kinda by Casa Grande. You gonna hunt her?

Yellowbird RS 02-03-2005 11:19 AM

Thanks, Jim Ana and Athina flush and get them they are English Springer Spaniel about Harry When he sight their prey from the air, they land on the ground and take turns to scare the prey animal until it darts out from its hiding place and is captured by another member of the hunting pack. This seems to be an adaptation to flush out their prey from beneath the thorny habitats of mesquite, saguaro and semi-arid woodland without causing damage to the birds' plumage.

Yelo:

Harry is 1 handsome bird...he looks like a Harris in that photo. Can you work him on both sides of the border, or does he stay on 1 side? How is he on furred game?
Feathered game? Isn't their eyesight amazing...1st time I went out w/ a falconer I couldn't believe how far the bird would go to snag a jackrabbit!

Sarah 02-04-2005 09:31 AM

I have to agree..."Harry" is really cool!! I don't know anyone else who has that type of pet.

goat 02-04-2005 09:45 AM

Don Your little Vizsla is really cute.
Here is a pic from years ago with my first, winning a title and best hunting dog title too. see how I don't spoil him before a hunt test.....

Goat:

I wondered if you'd chime in...saw your avatar. Vizsla is hungarian for Velcro...world's largest lap dog. they stick like glue to ya.

goat 02-04-2005 10:46 AM

lowyder993s Jim.
Your two vizsla's look amazing!
I think you are down south right?
And Don.. You have to take that pup out into the field what comes natural to these dogs would amaze you. Even if you just do a fun field day with a local club.

goat 02-04-2005 10:50 AM

And a pic of my little girl....

No truer words...breeder and I went to the pheasant club last w/e. He doesn't hunt, but took the sister to my 2 to the club to see what she could do...2 rock solid points. 1st time ever exposed to live birds! I'm almost ashamed to tell you these 2 have had only about 40 hrs training...LOTS of instinct! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1107543644.jpg

88'3xBlk911Cab 02-04-2005 11:36 AM

Wow, those Vizsla's are gorgeous dogs! Love the lap velcro comment :D

Im going to try to get pics up of my dogs tomorrow. Ive been drinking a whole lot since I got home, because as of 1:40AM I was informed by my mother that my second oldest dog Jake is no longer able to stand under his own power. I knew this day would be coming, but his condition has been rapidly deteriorating over the past week. He can still sit, so tomorrow morning early Im going to take him out for 'one last ride' in the Porsche and spend what little time I have left with him. Then its on to the vet to say a last goodbye...http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sad2.gif

bluebullet... sorry to hear about your doggy. It made me think about how last summer our sharpei Bailey had one last ride in the porsche just days before he had to be put down for kidney failure. sorry & hang in there as you are missing them....:(

Yellowbird RS 02-07-2005 02:35 PM

My ferret wanted to help me work on the house

Corky is hanging around by the tools. Ferrets are hard to catch on film, they like to scamper around.

For some unknown reason we decided we needed an English Mastiff/St. Bernard mix to compliment our Rottie and Olde English Bulldogge.
Meet Bellah. She is 7 weeks and 17 pounds in these pics. we pick her up tommorow.

Shawn,
Any more pics of the new addition to the family? That's going to be one big, happy dog! Your son looks like he'll be very happy too!!

carreradpt 02-27-2005 10:07 PM

Here's our gang just this evening. Willie Z McCool is the latest bully. He's the 17 week guy in the back. Zoomie is the kitty boy making himself comfortable on the heap. A nightly ritual for him. Rosie is the blondie Queen on the right and Miss Pootie Pootwell is on the left. My wife picked that name. Willie is named after the Shuttle pilot.

I dont have any pics of her at home yet. Flash is in trouble if he doesnt start standing his ground! Bellah is stone cold fearless!

Sarah 03-01-2005 05:57 AM

Spanky let's Kota boss him around too about 90 % of the time. But he will always try to dominate another male. I think it's funny when she bugs and pokes at him because it is pay back for all the grief he gave my Bailey (sharpei that passed away last summer). I say sorry Spanks...you are on your own...if you don't want her bugging you...then let her know...;). He'll usually just go hide in one of his dog houses if he doesn't want to play.

Yellowbird RS 03-01-2005 07:54 AM

Shawn, great dog!

Sarah 03-18-2005 08:26 AM

Time for more pictures

Sarah 03-18-2005 09:14 AM

Shawn...Bellah's face & feet are great. She is going to be huge.

Shawn...as a side issue....are you going to the Funfest in IL June 10-12? We are with 3 other couples. it seems like a lot of pelican people might be at that.

thrown_hammer 03-23-2005 03:48 AM
