Assuming he somehow rigged up a connection to pump air into and back out of that tank and assuming he had a standard air compressor could he get over 150 PSI into that thank? Lets assume he can, can he ever get underwater with a giant flotation device on his back?

And if it really was hooked up, it would be quite a nasty affair. The odorant used in bottled gas lingers on the inside of the tank for a very long time. You can flush the tank out many times with regular air and it still smells bad.

I think I see a problem or two there.

Yup, he'd need a pretty good-sized weight belt to overcome that BC.

Regardless I'm pretty sure we agree that on a good/bad scale it's way down at the bottom, near bad.

:
The odorant is called mercaptan. In my yute I had the opportunity to rebuild a compressor that pumped pure concentrated mercaptan.
After a little while I couldn't smell it anymore but other people sure could smell it on me. Fer a month! Nasty.

Could be simply for buoyancy.

Lots of mercaptan in Santa Barbara oil fields, irks the rick folk. I cried for them.....
