Local legend says that lighthouse is haunted (no, I don't believe it... spent many nights hanging out in the dirt lot next to the light house.)

You were very lucky to catch it on one of the days they had it open.

Yeah Scott, that whole trip was just a lot of luck. A local chapter of young Sea Cadets were manning the light, but I had no idea that was a rare thing. That was the kind of day filled with neat things, found by accident, that I never could have planned for. There's probably a lesson in there somewhere for me...
