The input shaft (closest to the worker) has 3 male lobes and turns twice as fast as the female lobed shaft. Louder than hell, they have trouble meeting the OSHA maximum sound threshold.

Alf James Rudolf Lysholm (born 14 December 1893, died 20 February 1973) was a Swedish engineer.
Lysholm worked for the Ljungstrom steam turbine company. He is noted for the development of the Lysholm rotary screw compressor and the hydraulic torque converter.
