Mmmm, tamales. I'd love to get some good tamales. I don't even want sauce with a good tamale. Are those made with white corn meal or is the color of the photo just off?

White cornmeal, no lard. Good masa is what makes a good tamale and they use top notch cheese and meats in their tamales. they've won First Place at the Tamale festival in Indio a few times.

In my hood we have several tamale guys/guys selling tamales on the street... yeah I know I'm rolling the dice when I buy from them, but they each seem to have their own territory where they hang out so I presume they get a lot of return business.

The last time I ate at a random street vendor was THE last time. Hospital visit .. and because my wife was away, that involved an ambulance.
