Yes. From '54-'62 the Gullwing and the Roadster shared the same chassis. Sorry, I forgot to include that in my previous post.

So where (and how) did he find that chassis in the jungle?

Undoubtedly it is a Mercedes chassis.
I'd be looking at the chassis plate....if it still exists.

Seems like this has at times turned into the classifieds/used parts section -

Steve, you are correct sir, a 1955 300SL Gullwing Coupe!! I'm helping a friend sell it. Here is what it looked like when last raced, before being crashed in 1962

It is for sale, has been with the same owner (who recently passed) since 1962. BTW, the 1956 300D next to it is for sale, but he is keeping the AMG 500E

The dragon bites back

I know no details. I await the WRX driver and dragon lover in the next cube to find all that out for me...

Talking

That car has been in my buddies family since 62, I've known about it for 20s year. When his father passed this year, he deiced to sell it. Even as rough as it is, being on of 1,400 total gulls, with matching vin chassis & engine are still very $$$$$$$$

ok byron, you finally got my attention. Why on Earth are you tearing apart a C5 Z06? Flood victim? I see some rust on the floor pan.

We were going to build something fun that looks older, not a flood car, get rear ended and pushed into a guard rail Would make a great track car. My partners wife just had surgery so his time (mine is already used up) doesn't leave spce to play with this. Can drive with wheels. BTW, it is for sale now, as is his vert

This SC may be for sale too

A better question is, why is there a picture of a Porsche dash and floor in a set of Corvette photos?
