Another PayPal warning

This has probably been posted already, but it won't hurt for folks to see it again. There is a message floating around that is trying to get PayPal members to give up their usernames and passwords - do I have to say: "Don't do it!"?

My first clue was that the following message was sent to an address that is not even registered with PayPal. The Reply To: address is user@some.com and there is an "@" symbol in the link that they try to lure you to.

Here is a sample of the text from the message:

Please verify your information today!

Dear Paypal Member.
Your account has been randomly flagged in our system as a part of our routine security measures. This is a must to ensure that only you have access and use of your paypal account and to ensure a safe Paypal experience. We require all flagged accounts to verify their information on file with us. To verify your information, click here and enter the details requested. After you verify your information, your account shall be returned to good standing and you will continue to have full use of your account.

Thank you for using PayPal!

Beware out there!

I won't use paypal...would rather risk the loss by sending a cashier's check for anything I buy from ebay. Of course, the most expensive item I've bought from ebay was $150 or so. I think most sellers are honest. I've been lucky so far. An under $500 loss wouldn't give me a LOT of anguish. ID theft, the unauthorized use of one of my credit cards could...my latest ebay purchase? A custom pool cue for Cindy. Half price at $152.50. She loves it. The problem? I need to step up my game a bit.
