Rumor has it that Pitt is up for the role and Wolfgang Petersen will be directing. He directed him in Troy.
But I say that it will be difficult if not impossible to outdo the original. |
Oh O.K.....who then?
|
Just my point...it can't be done.
Unless they've cloned a new Steve from DNA extracted from his remains. |
What?!..It can't be done?.. Oh, O.K.

The jury's still out on the new Mustang, for me. And honestly, I'm not much of a fashion guy at all. But what's up with the pants those models are wearing? They just look, well, wrong, somehow... |
The biggest problem I've had with the current Mustang has been total lack of interior room for me. I'm 6' 4" and 200 pounds. The current Mustang is a really tight fit for me.
I fit fine in my 911 and don't plan on doing anything else in terms of sports cars, so the size really isn't an issue. OK, what does everyone think of the Mazda RX 8? Troy |
I've been there, done that, with GTO's. Both bought new, in '65 and in '66. Times change, I know. But a something or other powered by a small block Chevolet engine is a "G.T.O."? I don't think so. BTW, I STILL like the redhead! I agree with Jack though....both she & the blonde ought to get out of those pants...;)

Well, my brother had one (Monaro - I'm in Australia) and I can tell you that after driving it for a month he decided to get rid of it. He lent it to me for a couple of days (HEY! My starter motor needed replacing after crapping itself at a track day) and I can assure you that it drives like a cross between a slow speedboat and a taxi cab. (Could be endearing features to the V8/NASCART crowd - not sure - I'm not in marketing). Another chump at work has one and has had nothing but drama's with oil leaks and engine vibrations (poor balancing/harmonic balancer out of whack etc. There was also a recall on all models with electric seats as they where spontaneously crushing the drivers into the steering wheel whilst driving (!).
Very well built by GM standards but 25 years behind tier one manufacturers all the same. |

I remember a few years ago there was a limited edition Sunfire GTO offered... wheezy four-cylinder and all. Shameful... |
Besides, the new GTO is world's better than these "GTO's" from the 70's...

Can't argue with that one bit...any chance you have a pic of a '65? Have to admit, it was my favorite between the 2 I had, even tho it was the '66 that had tri-power.
|
Well at least the 73 and 74 GTO's above won't be all alone in the ugly department.
No true GTO enthusiast ( I've had three, and still have one sitting in the garage next to my 911) will accept that new car has a GTO. |
|
Even the '74 is better looking than that hunk of ass.
What is that? An overgrown, bulbous Sunfire? |
I'm w/ BSJ. No thank you to the new GTO. Not nearly enough retro or apparent heritage there to merit the title. My first car was a '71 Grand Prix (400, w/ 4 barrel) and therefore, as a rule, I'm predisposed to like Pontiacs. Not this one, however.
As for the redhead -- been one myself, since birth, so I'm a fan of those too. The oversized, formless nature of the pants is not at all in keeping with the snug, curve-enhancing tops (for which I say: woo-hoo!). Perhaps Pontiac ordered baggy pants out of concern for "Wider is Better" jokes at their models' expense? The blonde looks like she needs a full-sized trunk. (Insert Sir-Mix-A-Lot joke here). JP |
The problem with their pants is that they forgot to take them off.

Thanks! Great way to see the evolution of the Goat... P.S.: Evolution isn't always good...perhaps like another car company I know of? BTW, anybody know who (within GM) created the GTO in the first place? (A hint to answering this trivia question: "snowmobile". ;))
