Goran, I don't recall anything about classics in the first post. And slamming other peoples musical taste is opening your taste up for criticism. I'd say several of your choices are either crusty or outright lame. W.A.S.P. headless children is wayyy cheese, Mean Man is he only decent song on the CD. I saw them on that tour at the Disco Circus in Manheim. Worst concert ever, they lip synced & Chris Homes was to drunk to play. Don't tell me you didn't listen to butt rock in the 80s, Shout at the Devil probable started the whole disgraceful movement. Jar of Flies IMO is the lamest of all the Alice in Chains CDs & how do you get any cheesier than sailing the seven seas of cheese?

No opinion on Audioslave or Staind because I won't listen to them. Just not my taste. Metallica..........they lost me when Cliff died. STP. Isn't that a motor oil? Motley Crue. You know, I like "Too Fast For Love" and "Shout at the Devil". Lame? Maybe. Started "hair bands"? Most likely. But I like them, I really do. I don't know why. White Zombie. Didn't care for his movie either. I would rather have my fingernails pulled one by one than listen to anything "country". Or "rap". Or "jazz". Or "pop". Yuck. But I like blowers and carbs too. Shows how much I know. Pete |

Oh come on, Shout at the Devil ROCKS! Sure it's cheese, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.
Also, about W.A.S.P. You gotta the crotch shooting fire, LOL! |

Didn't Al Jourgensen put together a country band at one point?Near as I can tell, Rob Zombie's whole schtick is to be as cheesy as possible. Therein lies the beauty. ![]() I think it's just fun. If I want to expand my brain I just cue the Beethoven playlist on my iPod.

We built this city on rock and Roll....even Gracie Slick says not... I could never stand the Starship. But the Airplane was a differnet story.
Santana OK Deep Purple...After 'Hush' oh well.... Like the Floyd...Dark Side of the Moon was the nadir...they became PRETENSIOUS...Artsy Fartsy Commercial...

For me, it is a class of one with Floyd's "Dark Side."
It's the ONE album that I don't think I will ever get tired of, and can listen to from front to back on a semi-regular basis. There is something truly magical about it, but most importantly, for me it is very evocative of many stages of my life. To me, others that go above and beyond the call of duty: Sex Pistols "Nevermind the Bollocks" - Really groundbreaking, original, and most of all, so authentic. The Pistols burned shortly but brightly - it couldn't have been any other way for them. Pet Sounds. So reflective of one man's passion and pain. The middle year U2 albums - Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree. Both very inspired albums. |

Last I heard, Al was in rehab. I heard one of the guys from Ministry OD'd on heroin. Although that could just be the guy from Skinny Puppy who died a few years ago.

Starship's Red Octopus was well before "We built this city on RR".

Actually i believe two guys from Ministry died, as far as i remember...guitarist from Psalm69 era slith his throat and other one OD-ed (i think) Speaking about big Al, i saw him both in person (friend works as backstage "take-hand of artists guy) and in concert this summer and he sure looked realtivly fresh (for being Al). Don't as me how. He's clean they say.... Gig was absolutely amazing...and i mean it. Much better than his previous from "lay lay lady" -95 "high on stage" phase. 5axis: you know him in person?
