Seems like a good deal...

I'm not in the market, but this wouldn't be a bad investment if you can make it work....

SHIP IS SOLD " AS IS WHERE IS " BASIS.

"Where" could be a bit of a challenge, couldn't it, especially of they had to pick it up from some Third World paradise?

Inspection before payment is recommended.

You think TRE will do a PPI on it?

Ahh, it's an oldie!

At first, I was wondering how they'd be able to legally sell off a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to an ebay buyer, but then I read the fine print. I'm sure some local navy guys would be able to clarify, but that's a WWII baby carrier. It's much smaller than you'd expect. An Iowa-Class battleship from the same era would absolutely dwarf this.

Fairly expensive, really.

(from the ebay auction)We were just informed by the owner that a buyer has just been on board for inspection.(the owner has also contacted one buyer themselves.) We are negotiating with the owner on allowing our buyer onboard for inspection. The owner intends to close the sale before New Year. So our buyer is strongly advised to get passport ready as well as visa for Brazil. We may have to go on board for inspection between the Christmas and New Year. We also intends to close this auction earlier, if we are allowed to do so by Ebay. (we will check that out). As waiting for another 4 days means we may lose this vessel
shoulda splurged on that "buy it now" button!

perhaps compared to a Nimitz class or equivalent, but with a deck just over 2 football fields long and 119 feet wide, and a crew of 1300, that ain't too tiny

Brazil.

I could think of other things to land on in Brazil than freakin' old-assed aircraft carriers.

I'd buy it, but the seller has zero feedback.

If I were a real big baller and had the money I'd buy it and put my car collection on it, that way I'd be very mobile and able to attend many shows around the world. Aaaah well, wishful thinking I guess, maybe sometime down the road....
