Drive from LA to Phoenix

I'll be making this drive next week. According to Microsoft Maps, its about 400 miles, which as we know...is roughly 4 hours in a 911.

Any suggestions on routes to take....places to see etc. Is it going to be mostly desert?

I looked at that nostatic...is that a place where you drive dune buggies?

You'll drive by this along the way. I don't know if it's worth a tour, but it hardly goes unnoticed.

yeah, Glamis is dune buggy land. It is a very beautiful place, although I haven't been through in many years. There are lots of closed sections, and just pulling over and hiking up on one of the dunes is pretty stunning.

This is the time of year to be there. I spent a miserable Memorial Day weekend once...122 in the shade.

Yep, it's mostly desert. You'll love it. The Sirius makes it easy. Watch out for the unmarked. Unmarked idiots. Unmarked CHiPs. Unmarked AZ Troopers. Unmarked speed limits. You'll be doing Ninety. The 'flow' of traffic will be passing you on both sides. The truckers have formed a new union. The faster you approach them, the longer they'll wait to pull out on you.

Like I said, you'll love it.

I think the Phoenix guys have a drive going this weekend, check the regional board here or at the R-list. I thought about going, but have to fly this weekend.

Have fun!

I land in Scottsdale this afternoon. Am bringing an 'West Coast MLB owner' in for the Baseball Owners' meetings. Wish we were staying longer, but depart tomorrow, Thursday.

I'll look for Sonic on the I-10. I'll be just about the only thing faster than the traffic on that Interstate.

I will look for tire marks matching an SC on the road, during the drive back.
