Not a Bad Day

Wandered on down to Beinfields Antique Gun Show at the Riviera yesterday. Man there were alot of people there. Prices were over the moon...Colt Cavarly Single Actions 20K to 30k for a decent one, and there were about 40 of them there. Or how bout Colt 1911's...an early on in the 2XXX serial range nearly new in the box for $14,500.00. Didn't see much buying though. Another thing Smith & Wesson pre WW2 Registered Magmums are now going for 11.5K for new in the box condition at auction.

I did find a rifle I have been looking for for 8 years...an 1877 Long Range Sharps rifle with the Rigby Barrel...guy wanted 35K. Gun or 35K? Gun or 35K? Gun or 35K? Hmmmm 35k in my pocket won....
A Exhibitor that I met there is the leading authority on Wyatt Earp...he's published volume 1 of a 4 volume set of books on Wyatt's life...vol 1 takes you up to the cow town years. The book is a 1000 pages long and is very inclusive. He thinks the Buntline Special Colts were for real, that they were a gift to get the receipents to perform in a Wild West Show. Also he thinks Wyatt was paid 3K by Wells Fargo under the table to clean up Tombstone. So I bought a book....it will make a good door stopper if need be.

Anyway all that walking around made me powerfull hungry so I headed on down to the Bleagio for their Friday night Seafood Buffet...Started off with a plate of Crab Legs with drawn Butter, Scotish Smoked Salmon, moved right on to the Beef Wellington and Prime Rib...Ohhh was that GOOOD....headed on home and smoked another Cohiba and had a shot of McCallums 18 year old.
Oh and MOtorola finsihed up $.62 a share, and another one of my large positions...SEGU finished up $.21 a share...so yesterday was a good day after all.

Today I am headed back to seee the other half of the show..the sporting arms section... Who knows I might even head on over to the Belagio again???
