By the way, I am not interested in "Solutions for Home Owners and Sellers in Financial distress."
Shame on Spam-man for his original post, though the intro was provocative.

Don't tell me I'm going to be getting more spam mail along with the Viagra and "free porn" ads I already get. Oh jeeeezzz!

My wife supports our family by suing spammers. And if she loses the case, I take it very personally. Then my son spits on their shallow grave that we dug on the edge of town.

Ah, togetherness....

Spammers seem so elusive. How does she track them down? Half the time I click on the "no longer want this message" (sic) link, I get a blank screen.

I've tried filters and the such, but creative text messaging constantly admits more spam.

Forget changing my emal account. I'm thinking of giving up Outlook altogether.

NEVER click on the "opt out" or "get off our list" link. That just sends email back letting them know that your address is being seen by a live person.

You best bet is to get a good spam blocker (spam seive is pretty good), and have multiple email accounts. Also, if you post your email publically, you can do it like "dhdorion-at-mindspring.com". People will have to manually fiddle with it, but scraping bots won't recognize it as an email address and will leave it along.

btw, has anyone noticed the latest trend? adding numbers into words so that spam blocking software doesn't pick up the "objectional" text.

Dorion, I use a program called SpamBeyes for catching spam, and it does a pretty good job.

I would vote for public castration of spammers.

For some the availability of a trusted "Nanny" or family member makes the two parent working situation much, much easier.

My observations:
If one parent works think about it this way. If your wife or husband is at home they are most likely spending money and not making it. Heating/AC and other utilities go up quite a bit. The free time allows for shopping or days off to the Crayola factory, Six Flags, Disney etc etc.
Oh and this one took me surprise: My wife said she'd go back to work when our daughter went to school full time. Now she says that she can't because our daughter is off during the summer....who will watch her? Heh heh

What hurts the most is that my wife did very well and here previous employer begs here to come back constantly.

Oh well, as long as it benefits our kids it's worth it.

I figured jvtree wasn't having a personal crisis since his only post was his first one. Anyway...this was still interesting reading where people are coming from.

Spam....I have to get one of those programs because the filters for our home email don't seem to block a thing. I've been deleting b/ 30-60 a day...makes me wonder if they sell our email address.
