Does anyone know anything about this motor.
http://www.allpar.com/mopar/la4.html I have been asked to suggest a front mounted motor for a Lotus 7 look alike. I suggested this motor however very few folks know much about it. It looks like it could produce some real hp! I know its pricey however it appears to overcome a lot of mounting problems. Thanks a lot for any info. David Duffield |

Looks expensive!
Apparently the Ford Duratec 4 cyclinder combines light weight (all alloy) with easy 100hp/litre performance, and it can be a 2.3. But I can't find any decent links to it!! IMO, the Uk leads the way in the engines which go well in Lotus 7 replicas. Other popular engines include the Rover (too small, IMO at 1800cc) and the Vauxhaul 2 litre. The Duratec is a "new kid on the block".
