Loren is by his own admission way too smart to talk to the rest of us without being condescending. The way his posts flip flop time and again has me puzzled, I haven't figured out why and I never will. He's been on my ignore list for a month now.

I've always thought as Hergesheimer's as a high quality shop, I've been there twice and met laura and Mark at several events. I must say that having read the post associating loren with the shop damages my perception of Hergesheimer's and will reduce the likelyhood of doing business with them in the future. Just my free opinion, worth every penny you paid for it.

Well, that would be a different matter, of course.
But in general, I do not think these forums should be open to personal attacks on individuals, and the moderators should delete them when they appear. Ben Parrish should send loenfb a private email if he has issues to take up with him.

There is always the option to imput/argue a better alternative. That's how a lot of problems get worked out in this world.

There's been boasting and bashing of cool collars, e-rams etc. on this BBS. Most are acompnied with logical claims of something and refuted with logical counterarguments and a little more than a little poo-pooing.

I'd personally rather be told rudely that the grass is green than coddled with a unanimous lie that it's orange. I once got blasted into a million pieces by Early_S_Man for pointing out what I thought were design flaws in the side post lift tools, but I didn't take it personally, even though I was in a "delicate" time of month . I still thank and admire the great minds here that contribute every facet to an idea and hopefully I can contribute positively.

Ben, perhaps he is alone in his opinion, Nicolai Tesla and Ted Bundy were, but this smacks of politics and censorship. Please add me to your list.

Dr.,
Your post is a bit confusing to me. While I appreciate the comment about a high quality shop, which we strive very hard to accomplish and offer to customers, part of being in this business is making the effort to acquire as much information and technical data as is available. As most shop owners and businesses in general, we take information from our own experience, our own testing and together with outside available information, testing and data from multiple sources, evaluate it and apply it to our own business workings. To discount someones verifiable data because of a personality conflict would be a disservice to my techs and customers. We try very hard to keep an open mind about people, customer and vendors alike, and not discount someones's knowledge based on personality.

Do you feel that the quality and workmanship in my shop should be questioned because I feel Loren has some valid information to offer?

By what standard do YOU measure quality and knowledge?

I agree 100% on that score!

And saying "I'm not going to associate with a certain vendor/service provider because they associate with someone I dislike", carried to its logical conclusion, means you have no where to go in the end.

Plus, it's a lot easier to boycott someone who doesn't sell parts or services for your car. Loren= 3.2 chips, is that correct? (Probably why I am not familiar w/ him, never read those threads).

Sammy, (the personality-based boycotter), has a 1980 SC. Boycotting Loren is like someone in Tahitti refusing to buy snowblowers. Just wait until he upgrades someday to a DME car, he'll have to change his user name to "chip whore" or something.

Just kidding, Sammy. Rock on w/ your Boycott.

That's a personality issue.... He needs to get a life.

Although I think he has excellent points and valid data, it gets lost in the personal attack attitude

Life is waaaay too short, so get along and agree, if people like chips use them, if they want to modify advances do it, but for Gods sake quit bringing up these threads every week.

My personal opinion, no aninals were harmed forming this opinion,
your opinion may vary...
