Mac OS X 10.3 Question
We put Panther on the Mac, it is great, and I especially like the fast user switching so that I can have an environment distinct from my wife. One inconvenience, though, is that when I'm logged in and I launch an app, I can't access any of the data that my wife put into that app. For example, the p-car pics that where imported to iPhoto under my wife's login don't show up in the iPhoto library when I am logged in. Ditto with the songs in iTunes.
How can I access another user's data in those apps? We are both "administrators". Also, iPhoto is getting kind of sluggish with 10GB or so of pics. If I upgrade the RAM, will that help? iBook 600MHz G3 with 384MB RAM, it takes max 640MB. (Don't tell me to buy a new Mac, I'm holding out for the G5 PowerBooks.)

I can't answer your question but I have some observations about Panther from the past two months of use. Firstly, it's unstable, almost Windows-unstable. Everyday, I get applications such as Safari, Mail and recently System Preferences crash for no reason which is really irritating. It seems that they start to "think" (that multi-coloured pinwheel starts spinning) and shortly thereafter, the app closes and gets replaced with a "This application has unexpectantly shut down..." message box. I had no problems with Jaguar on my Mac and am now wishing that I had saved the money and stuck with it instead of "upgrading" to Panther. Here's hoping for a quick patch.
Any other Panther users having stability issues?
