Porsche Crest 911 on eBay... for real?

I read the auction twice and still can't figure out if this is a joke...

How could they sell a car that is owned by someone else? Don't they have to produce a title? Sounds like a story to get people to look at the post and bid.

Its gotta be a joke or a scam....

Read what the person wrote... for someone who is allegedly such a dumbazz that he cant put the car back together again....he sure does seem to know quite a bit of the terminology, parts etc...

Quote:
However,no leakdown test was done. Rings were replaced from EBS Racing. Cylinders were measured to be within .002" ( all six)after hone brush to deglaze. Valve springs were test to be within a couple of pounds. Twin plug heads have new Phos.Bronze guides and 3 cut valve job. Porting of intake and exhaust with " boots? to match". Exhaust has been modified ( Y pipe?) .

Would you get under a car that is being held up with a plastic bucket? Makes me wonder what the guy's been smoking, especially considering the write-up.

The left rear shock was leaking. The bucket is probably just holding up the swingarm etc. I doubt a 5 gal bucket could actually hold up the entire left side...

Impulse buy, car looked nice but needed work.

He figured he could do it himself and got in over his head.

Wife or someone who gives him an allowance found out about it and now he's in deep s***.

Back in Dec. he started buying Porsche manuals. He also bought a harness bar for the car.

Before that it looks like he was buying boat stuff.

Methinks the guy has a toy problem.

46 bids, are there that many idiots in this world? Probably not the only car for sale on Ebay that doesn't exist, he's just not smart enough to lie about it.

I was hoping you guys wouldn't find it!

The set up ( email from mutual friend):

Hi M.J.,

Just a quick note to thank you again for a terrific weekend, you have a very
nice cottage. My M.J. and I really enjoyed our selves, thank you again for
the weekend.

On a different note, I was surfing e-bay last night. The reason is that I'm
thinking about listing my car this spring and I started looking at Porsche
cars for sale just for the fun of it. I stumbled across this one and it
made me laugh because it reminded me of what Mike is doing to your car!!
Maybe you just want to swing by your garage to make sure it isn't your car,
just kidding, but take a look.

egory=10156&sspagename=STRK%3AMESSE%3AIT&rd=1

Hope to see you soon,

--------
The response:

AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH.....
I'm having a heart attack..... HELP!!! - Can't concentrate on my
work anymore... -
Tell me that this is a joke... and if it's not, my birthday gift
better be really, really nice... like something big with a lot a
horsepower - or something small with a lot of carats that sparkle!!!

----------

Lessons learned:

1. Ebay does not have a delete button or an end auction now button.
2. To she( who must be obeyed) the term " Trackifying a car" does not mean: installing race seats, harness bar, belts, heel-toe pedal, pss9 s, sway bars, race tires, fire extinguisher, race cam, 3.8l p &c etc. Nor does it mean removing a.c., radio, door panels and any other flamable interior parts. It does mean installing a heavy turbo tail( thanks KnightRace). ( Have I mentioned yet that I do own half this car).
3. She would love to sell the car and buy a new 4s. What happened to joint track car idea?
4. I'm going to start selling my new revolutionary plastic buckets that will support a car! Pictures don't lie.
5. Sorry if I offended anyone.
6. My email box is in critical condition.

This is a great idea. I'm going to take pictures of my neighbor's house and put it on Ebay. Housing prices in DC area have going up like 10% this year. That's a better return than the stock market right. I doubt that they will be upset when they learn I've made them money. Now I just need a friendly person in Nigeria to help me with a bank account....

I'm telling you that I'm the Dumbazz

with the Ebay ad. My co-owner in the car was having minor fits everytime I explained what was happening with the car so I, well, kinda showed her what it looked like in my own bizarre way!
In case you were wondering, I got her a set of copper pots for her Bday.

Ok, now I'm even more confused. But, at the same time I'm convinced that this is the best thread ever.
