Has this Fed Ex package actually been shipped?

I remember reading a thread here about Fed Ex shipping - seller claimed to have shipped the part and gave a tracking number, but actually never did ship the part.

Do you think this package has actually been shipped?

The tracking number exists before it has even entered the truck.

All this says is that someone purchased a shipping invoice and sticker for your package but it has not yet been physically processed by fed ex.

The package might be sitting in a private shipping bin somewhere waiting to be picked up by fed ex.

I used to work for an e-commerce and catalog retailer.

Our shipping system would feed the weight and other data into fed ex's shipping system and get back the fed ex package label.

If would then go in our shipping bin awaiting pick up by a fed ex truck.

If it was processed on a friday and sat in the warehouse all weekend its status would look like the one above.

It also works the same way for smaller companies and individuals with a fed ex account.

FEDEX tracking can sometimes be a bit terse. I've had packages that only showed a delivery date and time, and nothing else.

Given this package supposedly shipped on Friday, I'd give it until Sunday evening. By this time, it should be scanned into their system. However, based on the tracking info, this package could still be in the possession of the sender.
good luck, jurgen

UPS is worse...I've had no information and packages magically show up in the system after a few days...like they don't get properly scanned until their destination. Fedex usually is more on top of things.
