Hey, I like Hummers!

Oh, the car? Nevermind..........

Actually I like the car/truck too, burning @ ~1200F when you can roast marshmellos from 1/2 block away.

That's great! I'm not usually one to send out "You've got to see this," e-mail to my friends, but I know a few people who will really appreciate that site

It was in #2 possition when I checked. Moving up, due to popularity. . .tooo funny.

Some of the funniest ***** that I've seen in a while, we're all going to need humor as gas goes to Europe prices this summer and the world gets more screwed-up by the day.

cegerer 05-06-2004 03:13 AM

What's funny about the website is the sheer number of photo submissions!!! I usually see 2-3 Hummers at every intersection around here, now I'm going to have to look around at the surrounding vehicles to see if anyone's giving them "the H2 salute"!!! :D

UconnTim97 05-06-2004 04:23 AM

wOw, that is a lot of submissions...I wonder if the drivers notice all of the "salutes" they are getting...hehe

lendaddy 05-06-2004 05:14 AM

Very funny:) Both the lifelessness of the posters & the site. Good idea though. I've never gotten the bird in my Rover, am I exempt:)

Its because you have a European vehicle so that makes it okay...anything American is the devil.

I don't have a problem with people who own Hummers...its called freedom of choice. We wring our hands over H2's but do NOTHING about the millions of lawnmowers, edgers, tractors, chainsaws etc that have ZERO emissions equipment and belch, in aggregate a huge amount of a combination of fuel and oil into the atmosphere. Where is the outrage over people mowing their laws? Eco-freaks rarely think through their positions...they could do a lot of good if they did.

"...Where is the outrage over people mowing their laws? Eco-freaks rarely think through their positions...they could do a lot of good if they did."

When idiots drive their lawnmowers to work every day, that will piss me off bigtime.

it's not just the emissions. It's the waste of an excess 3,000 lbs. of steel, plastic, rubber, etc. that takes an enormous amount of energy to produce, adds wear to roads, costs extra energy to drive and takes up an additional (your figure here) square feet of space in parking lots, streets, etc.

If everyone driving a 6,000 lb. SUV or truck without a payload switched to a 3,500 lb car, we probably could get by without Saudi oil.

If everyone would stop driving old Porsches that get 17 mpg...

Everything is relative.

Big Ed 05-06-2004 08:53 AM

The subject of this thread is not what I thought it might be.

When I drive sanely, I can get high 20's, low 30's

"If everyone would stop driving old Porsches that get 17 mpg..."

How anyone can compare several million 6,000-lb. trucks on the road to a few tens of thousands of Porsches is beyond me.

john70t 05-06-2004 09:50 AM

Hmmm, for some reason, I don't see to many Hummers in the off-road rallys.

I would think that with an engine 3 times as big as a Subarus they would do quite well, and the vehicle is supposed to be purpose-built for that enviroment...

Dantilla 05-06-2004 10:38 AM

I am one of the few four-wheel-drive owners that actually goes off-road.

I never see any Hummers there. Two trees too close together will stop the Hummer three feet from the pavement. The Jeep keeps going.

That being said, as soon as somebody has the authority to tell someone else what to drive or not drive, all of us Porsche owners are in trouble.

911ctS 05-06-2004 10:39 AM

H1/H2 = the little man, small dilsnick syndrome. Something that most of us P-car owners no nothing about. Im serious.
