The Cemetery of the Pacific, in the Punchbowl Crater in Honolulu. Many of the war dead from WW II and Korea rest here. |

Very common here with Amish and Mennonite produce and flower producers. Mush less labor intensive I have been told. They reuse the plastic.

Back from Monterey, San Francisco, Crescent City and Bandon Oregon...
I had the deep honor of officiating the wedding of my son's best buddy of the last 15 years and his amazing, beautiful bride. They are on their way across the country to Maryland for her residency as an OB/GYN Doc. Luke I'll call him, (since that's his name) has gone with me, my Best buddy and my son up into the Ross Lake area for a week at a time for a decade as well as a bunch of overnight backpacking trips. I think the world of this guy, calm, musically gifted, very strong and a steady hand when things get dicey. I was (and still am) blown away when he and his fiancee asked me a year ago if I'd come down to Monterey and wed them... I gave it a little thought and then said absolutely! He and my Son have summited Rainier, Mt. St. Helen's, Mt Adams and many many other lessor peaks. I don't worry (much) when they are out climbing together, they are both very capable and know when to say hold up, let's re-assess. Originally planned as a fly to SF, drive to Monterey do some sight seeing and return 7 days later, SeaTac started having issues, so it was Road Trip time!! Took 12 days, had a blast every day! Great digs on Cannery Row ![]() Except for these guys and gals, barking over the best parking spots on the Coast guard pier ALL freakin night! ![]() Black Pearl was in town, fixed up nicely too! ![]() Santa Rosalia doing her thing ![]() Forefathers and mothers of Monterey ![]() ![]() Carmel Mission ![]() ![]()
