^^^ My then wife and I were on the way to Mackinac Island for a friends wedding. Saw the ship while crossing and took a pic out the open window with a polaroid instamatic. I had no idea at the time what the ship was.
It was over a year later (after the sinking) that I remembered the pic and wondered if it was the EF. Using a magnifying glass on the original pic verified it.

That's a cool picture. I was in Michigan in 1975 and we went to Mackinac Island, Sioux Locks, and I saw the Mackinac Bridge. While we were at the locks, there was a big announcement that the largest ship on the great lakes was coming through. I remember the ship was red. My Dad had pictures of it but I don't know whatever happened to those pictures. I always wondered if it was indeed the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I took the pic with a camera like this...very popular in that time. Kodak instamatic.

![]() Edit. Please resize the bird photo. Thanks! Edit. How do you resize a photo on your phone? Since it was a quote, I guess the original was big as well? Last edited by A930Rocket; 11-13-2022 at 05:12 PM.. |

The "notices" section seems a bit harsh.
My son's older 350-4 that graced the garage for a while, long gone. Sure made great noises and the 10K redline needed to be exercised just for the fun of it

Byron could you maybe try scaling your pics properly and perhaps consider limiting your posts to one or two photos at a time? It's really tough to scroll through this thread with the way your posts are presented.
