One on my nephews is visiting from the east coast and brought his wife and three of their five kids, the other two are working and couldn’t make it.

Up into the mountains we went, Big Four Ice caves and a set of falls on the North Fork of the Sauk river.

This time of year everything is green and growing like crazy, Ice caves just beginning to form

February 2017, solo back country ski trip starting where the North Cascades Highway is closed every year.

I've got to rent or borrow a snow machine for this 35 mile section of mountain road some day, I only got maybe 5 miles on skis and didn't see anything other than tracks and glorious views.

There was a good view down to Ross lake where I stopped, started getting this eerie feeling something was watching me.

Alrighty then, back to the truck.


At full pool that's Cougar Island, one of my favorite camping spots. Up until the lake reservoir refills to 1550' you can hike out to it, after that yer gonna need a boat

Been waiting for my chassis dolly to be returned, as I am swapping suspension components on the 81, plus I need to use the trailer for something else.

Finally got to see a foot doctor, but it appears to be nerve issues, but, as pretty much expected, she highly recommended me get some tennis shoes with high arches and an insert for them. Fortunately we have a great shoe store that has been in business for close to 70 years, on the 3rd generation of the family owning the store, starting by the grandfather of the current owner. Lots of friends over the years have sworn by Boger shoes for medical shoes, odd sized feet etc. One other thing that I found interesting is the stores weren’t handed over to the sons, the Father sold the business to his son, and the son sold it to the grandson.
