OCF Time

Most of you won't know what "OCF" is but perhaps some will. Paul will absolutely choke on the reference. But in a couple of weeks I'll be off to the most christian community I have ever witnessed. People with true joy and love in their eyes and hearts, healthy bodies and minds. What some would call "The Enemy." And I'm going to be sad to the point of breakdown on Sunday evening, as I am each year, that this kind of community and brotherhood, and love, cannot seem to catch the rest of the world on fire. For three days before that, I will be "home."

I wonder if anyone here understands. ?

Hey, that looks freaky and fun. What the Renaissance Festival should be, IMHO....

That's how it started out. When renaissance fairs were quite common on the West coast. 1969. And yes, it's a place of freedom. Truly a unique experience. Check out the playlist of performing artists, (I'm assuming this info is posted on the site though I am not certain). Lost of vaudevillian stuff. One stage even has an orchestra and does a 1-2 hour play. The Flying Karamazov Brothers are always there, and always very active, for example.

Trust me. It's a BLAST. Unless you're uptight. Uptight narrow-minded people would be incensed.

I work the Bus Gate from 2-7 each day, so I would not be hard to find. Not so easy to recognize though. I and a couple of co-workers have a cross-dressing competition that's getting ugly. I cannot seem to find anything that can compete with the stretchy purple sequined short floozy dress that the Admissions guy has. I'll keep scouring the Goodwill stores. FWIW, I am as 'straight' as a laser-shot. And FYI, my outfits are totally tame compared to some. I assume this is the kind of thing you mean by "junk." If it's drugs, the answer is no. Indeed, my work the rest of the year includes serving as drug test coordinator on a safety-sensitive project. We have administered roughly ten thousand drug tests. One thing that is striking about my hippie friends is their health. They are lean, wide-eyed, and drug-free (for the most part). I look like Joe Corporation. Never judge books by their covers. We liberal hippies are everywhere. We've infiltrated every organization and you cannot tell who we are. We're like anti-terrorists, spreading tolerance, love and peace. WATCH OUT!!!!!

Looks like fun in that "oh, there are going to be a lot of stories to tell after this is over" way. Take pix and share the stories here when you get back -- it'll ease the transition.

I think Noah meant your twig and berries when he said "junk".

And remember, like the Renaissance Fest, attractive cleavage is the best photo subject.

Indeed.

Several pics on the site indicate that there are weddings or something. Super, do you have any pics of the indiginous women attending previously? I suspect some attractive, liberal-minded women might be found there.

Super,
Most of us avoid Veneta like the plague during this event. Yeah, we are all narrow minded, uptight conservatives. Yeah, that's it. Sheesh!

The last time I attended was 1995. I didn't have things like kids to worry about so thought it would be a fun thing to do. Well, I am more conservative now (grew wiser with age) but even back in '95 when I was more "liberal" I found the event shocking. Open drug use was the tamest thing I saw. People bathing in the open (not attractive people either) filthy kids, completely druged out people getting in your face. It was bad.

As far as cleavage, many women don't wear tops during this event let alone bras. There will be no cleavage.

Ever notice the women going topless aren't the women you want to see topless?

Back east, a number of years ago, there was a protest in Rochester New York. Some women thought that if men could go shirtless, women should also be permitted to do so, and these few did.

Hardly anyone noticed.

Troy, we've cleaned up our act considerably. The local prosecutor fired the proverbial 'shot across our bow' wake-up call. Since then we've disallowed entry onto the property without a ticket, we have undercover teams patrolling the fair for drug use, etc., completely disallowed the public to bring alcohol, and other measures.

There is no genital nudity, at least in the "public" part of the fair during the day. A g-string is therefore the minimum dress code. Chest coverings are simply unnecessary. One of the things about the fair I find wonderful is the desensitising effect. I spend the first few hours each year staring through dark sunglasses at the breats. After that, you quit noticing, quit staring, quit making judgements based on appearances. When you start looking past the appearances, people get even more attractive.

And on that subject: Trust me on this. Lean, happy, healthy, bike-riding yes-that's-my-real-hair-color-and-those-are-my-real-boobs hippie women beat the face-paint and silicon squad HANDS DOWN!!!!!!! Just staring into the bright eyes of some of those ladies causes woodies. The sauna, which is powered by a huge wood-fired boiler and has perhaps sixty shower heads, sauna seating for about seventy, no roof or ceiling, a fire pit, a baby grand piano and other instruments, a grassy lounge area, etc. etc., is truly a memorable experience.

I have pictures, but I'm not sure you guys can handle them.
