How did the Fast and Furious end?

Yes the movie...I saw it on German TV last month and I think it ended different than the version I saw here. After the big crash, the police approached and that was the end. I *thought* when I saw it the first time, the Vin Diesel character got away. I'm not wasting money to rent it again, anyone know? BTW: even if you can't understand it, it loses nothing in German.

"Gone in 60-seconds" was just as good on an airplane without sound; loses absolutely nothing for the complete lack of dialogue. Weird.

Seems like the American movie that I saw ended as the love story falls apart, at the big crash scene. Not sure though, because I mostly dumped that useless movie.

The ending of the Fast and Furious:
Blondie boy and baldie do a final drag race, with the bald guy driving the only car worth anything in the whole movie: a 1970 Dodge Challenger 426 Hemi. IIRC, there's a train, a jump, and the Hemi does a spiral flip over the blondie's car. Race comes to a screeching halt.
Blondie guy and baldie exchange some kind words, and blondie throws the keys of his car to baldie so he can get away. Cops come and blondie's there to explain the mess.
Credits roll by. End of story.

I live my life one Quarter Pounder with cheeze at a time, and for that 500 calories, I am free.

See that's what I thought. The German version ends right after the crash waiting for the police. No keys are given for the getaway. I'm getting old and losing my mind, thankfully I remembered this.

Ever seen the original (1974)? I assume the actors couldn't act because there was so much voice over explaining things that others were doing. Then again, I heard that the star was the stunt driver too. We couldn't have more than one Steve McQueen in this world. ;-)

The Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese has a much better meat-to-bread stoichiometry.

And the "nossssssssssss" is the sound of CheezeWiz being shot straight down his throat.

Incorrect widebody - the "nooooossssss" is the sound of the after-effects of a quarter pounder with cheeze coming out of my, er, exhaust.

Ah. Mine is much more louder due to the relatively small size of the orifice

speaking of modified TV endings (warning, thread hijack). One of the local stations showed Brazil on TV back in the early 90's. I was watching it, and it gets towards the end where the main character escapes and is driving away with the girl in the truck. Then the credits rolled. WTF?!?!?! That ending totally destroys the whole message of the movie? They cut the last 5 minutes where he comes out of the fantasy and is still in the torture chair. I tried to call and complain for about a half hour and never got through. i think I wasn't the only one that was pissed. Terry Gilliam was probably under heavy sedation to be able to make it through that edit...

Toby Haliki was the actor, director, producer and stunt man/stunt coordinator. He was like Stallone in that he came to Hollywood to make a movie and nothing could stand in his way. He filmed a bunch of it in Long Beach. If you haven't heard his story, like on Biography, you would really be impresssed with this man. He is responsible for the whole car chase phenomonum in films. They still do his schtick today. Most of the scenes were filmed early Sunday mornings with no permits. He happened on to a train wreck and used the scene in the movie. He was very impromtu and made a lot of it as he went along.

He was killed making the sequel in one of his own stunts when a phone pole fell on his car. 48 years old. His wife still distributes the film

I have all the Toby Haliki movies on DVD. I really dig his grassroots approach to making films.

One of the better stunts in his sequel was him flying over a small airplane.
