Question: why is it that so many of these obviously BS statements occur between men and women? Hmmm....

I agree - it is possible to support the troops and be against the war. I'm saying that there are those who profess to support the troops, but in truth loath the military and everything it stands for. They are trying to have it both ways and are not sincere.

I'm for the Iraq war and I support the troops.

I thank you for your service in Vietnam. I was for that war also, even though I didn't serve. I have a cousin and uncle who both served in Vietnam and I feared for them at the time. Both returned safely although my cousin was blown up in a tank and suffered injuries - Silver Star and Purple Heart.

The policy of "love the troops hate the war" tends to fall into the war protest crowd, which is more into "This war is unjust/stupid/pointless/etc." which is equally demoralizing to the troops whether you claim to support them or not. I admit I'm far too young to have been around for Vietnam, but the line between "love the troops hate the war" and "spit on soldiers" is pretty fine.

George Bush saying on national television "well gee I dont think I have made any mistakes".

I guess its not a lie if the person telling it believes it, it just makes them a complete ass.
