Brad Paisley - We Danced

It is terrible.

Jess 07-21-2004 11:56 PM

How can "Horse with no Name" by America not be on this list?

Jess

"Two of Hearts" by Stacey Q. It remains my lifelong mission to find her, tie her down and make her listen to that song over and over until she either admits it is the worst and most annoying abuse of notes in history or gnaws her own ears off so she won't have to listen to it any longer. Either one would prove my point.

"my heart will go on" by Celine Dion.

Crappy song, crappy singer, terrible movie.

" i think we're alone now" ? (is that the title?).

Tiffany (teenager)

jbripps 07-22-2004 07:23 AM

Yes, that's the correct title, not by Debbie Gibson (oops SVON).

Sorry, but here's two......Billy Idol's "Mony Mony" and Romatics "What I like about you" and most of their other stuff too. YUCK>>>

" The Pina Colada song" Rupert Holmes!

"Afternoon Delight", Starland Vocal Band

badcar 07-22-2004 07:47 AM

That "Barbie girl" song...and anything by any boy band ever.

techweenie 07-22-2004 07:48 AM

VINMAN, I love your avatar! Where is it from? It kinda seems like something from Office Space.

Oh, and I'll add that 'Afternoon Delight' is great in Anchorman.

nostatic 07-22-2004 07:49 AM

Some of you guys are naming a number of my "guilty pleasure" songs. Feelings? Morris Albert is a genius! Afternoon Delight? SVB was the next Beatles, just nobody knew it (likely for good reasons).

Toss-off pop songs to me don't qualify as worst of all time since they accomplish what they set out to do....be annoying pop ditties. To me the really offensive songs are those where the artist/band thinks they are being deep and/or original. "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi comes to mind. The first time I heard it, I thought it was a joke..."even Spinal Tap wouldn't be so formulaic".

more later on this breaking story...

"Happy Shinny People" - REM

Vinman, you beet me to it. "Afternoon Delight", by the Starland Vocal Band. I have to admit it’s one of those songs you either love it or hate it. Oddly enough it’s among the favorite songs of my wife and me (especially odd if you consider our taste in music). We don’t know anyone else that likes it.

All time worst song in any category has to be “It’s a small world”!

lendaddy 07-22-2004 08:34 AM

I thought VINMAN's avatar was from "Falling Down", the scene in the park with the hoods. Great movie!

To the contrary, alot of people knew. Granted, they were seriously misguided people, but some of them were regrettably also Grammy voters who bestowed the "Best New Artist" award to SVB in '76 or '77. (And to think some claim the Grammies are irrelevant...) As I recall, the multifaceted SVB even had their own TV show for a brief period.

But, since SVB has been taken, I would nominate virtually anything by Toby Keith. Not merely annoying, but calculatedly and consistently stupid as well. Thats a rare gift.

Anything and I mean anything from ABBA.

I would rather put a stick in my eye than listen to them.

Oh, I forgot the ultimate worst song of all time:

"I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston.

If that song were played a few times over and over to Iraqi prisioners, I'm SURE numerous international laws would be violated. That song is capable of causing intense physical and psychological pain. Even worse than a dog collar!

no doubt! it's the quintessential "i'm already boinking someone else, but there'll never be anyone as special as you" song

One of the local stations in NJ, NJ101.5 , plays "Dancing Queen" about 200 times on the weekends. Sometimes i think its the only record they have. It's enough to make you stick sharp objects in your ears!
