It's a caddyshack quote. Carl Spackler discussing caddying for the Dalai Lama. Here is the whole thing:
So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one---big hitter, the Lama---long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consiousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice. |
What an incredible Cinderella story, this unknown comes outta no where to lead the pack, at Augusta. He's on his final hole, he's about 455 yards away - he's gonna hit about a two-iron I think. Oh he got all of that one! The crowd is standing on its feet here, the normally reserved Augusta crowd - going wild - for this young Cinderella, he's come outta no where, he's got about 350 yards left, he's gonna hit about a five-iron, don't you think? He's got a beautiful backswing - that's - Oh he got all of that one! He's gotta be pleased with that, the crowd is just on its feet here, uh - He's the Cinderella boy, uh - tears in his eyes I guess as he lines up this last shot, he's got about 195 yards left, he's got about a - its looks like he's got about an eight-iron. This crowd has gone deathly silent, the Cinderella story, outta no where, a former greenskeeper now - about to become the Masters champion. It looks like a mirac - It's in the Hole!

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 -- "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things -- and the things that are not -- to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord." Just something to think about. |

As a younger guy it would have offended my (misplaced) sense of macho, but now I don't give a darn if strangers think that I might be gay or a Catholic priest or something. :D Although I secretly wanted to get into a roadrage fight just to see someone get their ass beat by a "sissy". :D |
Gimme a break here guys. Decades ago, I knew a guy who needed a place to crash for a night. He said his parents were mad at him, and Dad had kicked him out. It was okay by me, then 17, not living at home, if he crashed at my place. Sometime, around 2:00 AM or so, I awoke with his hand on my (euphanism for) donkey. I asked him what the F**K he thought he was doing? The response? "Don't knock it until you try it." My response? "John, I like girls ONLY." End of discussion, end of the matter. Did the matter end because he knew I could kick his butt? I'll never know. But this all leads up to my big question. WHAT DOES TABS DRIVE???? AND it leads to my next question... who gives a flying french kiss what ANY consenting adults do in ther bedrooms? I just don't want to pay for it, under the guise of "Gay rights", when all it really means is that I have to fork over even more in taxes. So, I don't care who drives what, gay or straight,..as long as I'm not expected to help to pay for it, because the "who" "has rights"...dig?

Or perhaps you're three for three... I never said anything about right, wrong, or beliefs. Merely pointed out that if you are going to use a literal interpretation of a certain bible as a basis for your beliefs, you might want to ponder some of the other passages and see if you want to take them literally too... |

I understand it escapes you. It is unfortunate. |
your trust is misplaced. I know plenty about the bible and god (even other ones). As usual you make incorrect assumptions. But I seem to keep forgetting that arguing with you is pointless. And that is *my* bad.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...won't get fooled again. |
Question:
If I decide to buy a Subaru........will I slowly become gay? And furthermore, is there anyway to accelerate this process? |

You are confusing the Old Testament laws and the New. Jesus Christ became the law, no longer are we subject to the laws, excepting of course the 10 Commandments. Romans 10:1 -- "Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes." Galatians 3:24 -- "So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law." Jesus said nothing about stoning anybody, so conflating Old Testament law with Christianity is obviously (even to you I am sure) intellectually dishonest; if indeed you are the scholar you profess. |
Subaru backwards reads "urabus", just 1 consonant shy of reading "uranus"....which of course is the gayest of all the planet names......
IT'S A CONSPIRACY.....if ever there was a car that was truly gay...it must be Subaru .......... |
